Inspection Cancellations

Beginning July 1, 2022 all inspection cancellations must be completed on your Brunswick County Permit Portal account no later than 2 pm the previous business day before an inspection is to be performed. Inspections not canceled in accordance with this policy will be inspected and charged a $75 reinspection fee.

Scheduling Inspections

Inspections are scheduled through your Brunswick County Permit Portal account.

Please Note: If you schedule an inspection and the project is not ready for inspection, you may be charged a reinspection fee.

Unlicensed Contractor

If you're going to represent yourself as the General Contractor (GC) on your project and you are not licensed you need to be aware that you are accepting all the responsibility for your project and will be responsible for knowing and following the building codes for the State of North Carolina just as if you were a licensed GC. We advise anyone who is going to act as their own unlicensed General Contractor to do their research before beginning their project. The North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors is a good place to start.
